Common Core Information – November 18, 2013 – Woonsocket, SD

Learn the Whole Story of the Common Core Standards
Common Core Standards are a set of Math and English/Language Arts Standards that have currently been adopted by 46 states & the District of Columbia.
Here are some facts:

  • It ignores your child’s uniqueness
  • It strips away local control of education…leaving parents, teachers and local schools no say about children’s education
  • Children are put in a National database for cradle to grave tracking…without parental notification or consent
  • Nationalizes education which violates the 10th Amendment and 3 federal laws
  • It will prepare your child for technical school, but not all 4 year colleges
  • Testing will not measure what children KNOW, but what they think, their beliefs, attitudes, habits and actions
  • Math standard: Children will be 2 years behind their International peers by 7th grade. Common Core Math standards are lower than our old standards
  • English Language Arts: Reading levels are lowered to 8th grade level for 12th grade students
  • Teaching methods are unproven, untested and align with UN goal of global citizenship

  1. Hi, I’m just wondering if this group still exists and if we are still trying to undo common core in South Dakota?
